Blog entries are funny. They start off as a blank page and stay that way for a very long time. Especially when it’s your first one. Ever.
So for my very first entry, I want to extend a warm welcome to you and your family. Please, make yourself comfortable.
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Dan, and I’m a brand strategist + designer. I help businesses increase their desired future state by helping their Brand rise above the noise, and I do this through Brand strategy + design.
But you knew that already.
I hope you’ve had a chance to look around the website. A few branding firms include a blog section on theirs. Many don’t. I decided long ago that I would have one the moment I went online.
So what can you expect here? Articles on branding, logo design, web design, case studies (lots of them), and many more, so I hope you will gain significant benefits from reading them. I will also include some sneak peeks on what I am working on and, more importantly, the why behind it.
That’s because I don’t do cookie-cutter. Cookie-cutter means noise, and being part of the noise means your business will sound like, look like, and be like every other business in your or any industry. That’s not a good thing. Trust me.
In addition, I (all caps) LOVE interacting with my audience, which is why I invite you to leave a comment on any or all of the articles you read. I want to learn from you. It’s how I get better at what I do. It’s how I can customize a solution for you and all of my now and future clients.
We are on a journey together. An exciting one! It doesn’t matter what type of business you are – small, medium, or very large. We (you and me) are still evolving, still learning, still innovating. At least I hope you are. Branding is my passion. That and the Spartan Race, but I won’t bore you with that unless there is some branding element.
One final thing. I write as I speak. I (usually) don’t hold anything back and can be colourful at times but NEVER disrespectful. I never use offensive language (swear words), and I promise to let you know ahead of time if there are. I bother to mention this, so you will know what to expect. I want to earn your trust. I also respect your time. I don’t use “Jargonese.” My philosophy is one of “Simplicity.” I loathe boredom so expect a little entertainment along the way.
Once again, welcome. I hope you enjoy the ride.
